The BEST Places to Work in Oregon winners, as chosen by their own employees, have demonstrated exceptional performance in the areas of Compensation and Benefits, Employee Growth and Development, Work-Life Balance, Workplace Environment, and Company Management.
Employee surveying and winner selection are conducted by POPULUS, an independent marketing and HR research organization. Employee responses are tabulated and combined to create an Index of Excellence for each of the five dimensions of employee satisfaction. These indices are used to select the winners and rank the Top Ten organizations in each size category.
Winners are recognized based on their size category:
  • Micro Organizations (10 - 19 employees).
  • Small Organizations (20 - 49 employees).
  • Medium Organizations (50 - 99 employees).
  • Large Organizations (100 - 249 employees).
  • Macro Organizations (250+ employees).
To be considered for an award, participating organizations must achieve a sufficient level of completed surveys.
