Bestbath is a leading manufacturer of composite bathing products focused on meeting the needs of the commercial and residential building industry. We are proud to be an Idaho, home grown company for over 50 years and remain a leader as compliance experts designing custom solutions.  We have been awarded numerous composite industry innovation, design & architectural awards and hold a unique relationship in the industry, collaborating with architects, designers and contractors to address their building challenges.

Our professional accomplishments are possible because of a fantastic ownership team and stellar employees. Bestbath was founded and continues to be operated by the same committed Boise based Multanen family. That kind of stability demonstrates a consistent commitment to the well-being of the employees, creates tremendous job satisfaction and a great sense of loyalty to our customers.

The company & owners are incredibly philanthropic, supporting SW Idaho, the Pacific Northwest and international efforts. We are key contributors to the Treasure Valley YMCA, Hope House, Habitat for Humanity and Project Amigo in Mexico – all committed to providing education and life-long opportunities to children and families.  The company’s efforts are based on long-term commitment that change lives both in our product and connections to the community.

Unlike many of the companies on your list, Bestbath has unique challenges that non-manufacturing industries just simply don't have. 60% of our employees are factory laborers that do not have offices, cubicles, chairs or PC based jobs. They are on their feet in a beehive of physical action in tough conditions, from hot summer temperatures to frigid winter challenges.  Our staff works two distinct shifts with limited cross over opportunities that require consistency, great communication and focused supervisors to streamline shift transition.  Over 30% of our employees speak limited English, so we must connect and reach all employees with deliberate and consistent messages to stay connected and inspire their loyalty and continual enthusiasm.  We don't tell the world about our outstanding culture - we proudly live it every day.

A few things worth noting that makes Bestbath unique (what sets Bestbath apart from the rest of Idaho's Employers, regardless of manufacturing centric or service centric):

 1) We share our successes.  We have a profit share program with the opportunity to distribute over $125,000 in profit share per month to all 155 full-time employees. We have paid this profit share monthly an average of 9 of 12 months in past 4 years. Even our temporary employees are given $100 per month and receive individual recognition and companywide applause at our all employee monthly company meetings.  The profit share plan by design pays lowest income, individual contributors first (in full) before any higher compensated staff, supervisors, managers, or executive leadership get any profit share money. This ensures those that make the least in the organization are rewarded first for their efforts. It also forces higher compensated decision makers to look at big picture, sustainable and widespread profitability vs short term personal gains.

 2)  We are dedicated to the health and advancement of our employees and their families.  Extensive benefit plans that include employee education reimbursement, family scholarships, 100% matching HSA accounts, 100% matched 401k plans, as well as matching 401k deductions from employee's monthly profits share checks. Our 401k plan has "NO VESTING SCHEDULE" (rarely offered by any company) due to our extremely low turnover. All benefits start the 1st day of the month after hire date for all employees (hourly & salaried), this includes vacation (PTO) accrual. We understand that our responsibility to our employees goes beyond their work week.   We focus on providing the resources for a healthy lifestyle and affordable healthcare for all employees and their families, no matter their financial status.

 3) Special events that promote family.  As a manufacturer it is important our social events are inclusive and promote departmental crossover. Whether it is a weekday lunch served by company executives or a special event that includes families, the turnout is high, and every executive and owner strive to make every event and participate.  Chili Cook Offs, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, BBQ Competitions, Tailgate Parties & Year End Celebrations are an annual part of our cultural fabric.

 4) We build respect throughout the organization.  We proudly display all 155 full time employee's photos (8X10s listed by years of service) on our Employee Wall of Fame. Additionally, we have all temporary employee's photos (4X6s) posted on our "Future Wall of Famers". These photos symbolize our pride in all employee's and personalize our relationships that we foster every day.

 5) We are a dedicated team.  Our company turnover is less than 9% per year during the past 5 years. This is far less than the manufacturing industry averages. In a low unemployment era like these past few years, it says amazing things about the culture, commitment and loyalty of owners & employees.  We are proud that not only is our turnover rate low, many of the employees that leave have returned asking for their jobs.

We were proud to be selected as a 2019 top ten finalist in the Best Places to Work in Idaho as recognition for our deep commitment to our customers and our employees that create, foster and nurture a rare culture.

We aren't the biggest, but we continuously strive to be the best!
